An electrical system requires circuit breakers to provide isolation and safety protection functions in addition to circuit control and short circuit and overload protection, especially in terms of personal and equipment safety and reliability of the distribution system. Therefore, the following aspects also need to be considered when you choose a proper type circuit breaker.

  1. Rated ultimate short-circuit breaking capacity (Icu); 2. Current limiting breaking capacity; 3. Short circuit protection; 4. Overload delay protection; 5. Isolation function; 6. Leakage protection; Arcing short circuits with high fire hazards are difficult to effectively cut off by short circuit protection, while leakage current can reliably disconnect ground faults, preventing the occurrence of personal electric shock and phase to ground short circuit faults.

What is a circuit breaker

It is capable of closing, carrying, and breaking the current in a normal circuit, and capable of carrying and breaking within a specified time frame; it is a switching device for current under abnormal circuit conditions (including short-circuit conditions).

What types of circuit breaker

According to voltage level: there are high-voltage circuit breakers and low-voltage circuit breakers;

According to the arc extinguishing medium, there are oil immersed, vacuum, SF6, and air type; (Low voltage circuit breakers are generally air type)

Divided by structure:

There are universal (frame type), plastic shell type, and small micro break;
