Why do frequency converters need to add incoming and outgoing reactors

The incoming reactor is used for anti-interference to prevent mutual interference between the frequency converter and other equipment;

The outlet reactor is used for filtering, and the carrier frequency of the frequency conversion is generally between 2 and 10 khz, which can make the output waveform smoother when used for filtering;

The incoming reactor is designed to prevent harmonic interference caused by frequency converters on the power grid and surrounding equipment.

The output transformer is designed to optimize the AC waveform output by the frequency converter, as it outputs high-frequency rectangular waves. In addition, it can also prevent the grounding capacitance on the output side of the frequency converter and extend the cable length from the frequency converter to the motor side.reactors

What factors should be considered when selecting an incoming reactor

1) The current of the incoming reactor can be selected according to the incoming current of the device, that is, the working current of the incoming reactor can be selected based on the larger input current of the frequency converter;

2) Voltage drop value of incoming reactor:

When the rectifier unit of the frequency converter is a non feedback rectifier device, select a 2% voltage drop for the incoming reactor;

When the rectifier unit of the frequency converter is a feedback rectifier device, a 4% incoming reactor should be used.

Occasions where an incoming reactor needs to be installed

The incoming reactor can not only prevent interference from the power grid, but also reduce the pollution of harmonic current generated by the rectifier unit on the power grid. When the power supply capacity is large, it is necessary to prevent current surges caused by various overvoltage, as they are harmful to the rectifier diodes and filter capacitors in the frequency converter. Therefore, connecting the incoming reactor is beneficial for improving the operating condition of the frequency converter. Based on operating experience, it is necessary to install an incoming reactor in the following situations to ensure the reliable operation of the frequency converter.

1) The power capacity is 600kVA and above, and the installation position of the frequency converter is within 10m from the large capacity power supply;

2) The voltage unbalance rate of three-phase power supply is greater than 3%;

3) Other thyristor converters and frequency converters share the same incoming power supply, or the incoming power supply is terminated with a capacitor device that adjusts the power factor through switch switching.
